　千ページを超える、思い切り分厚い大作です。

　「Equine -- LAMENESS」、1997年Wquine Research社から出版された書物ですが、タイトルの通り、馬の脚部のけがや病気に関する専門書です。
　いま考えると不思議ですが、当時は衝動的に知識欲がすごくて、競馬と馬に関することはなんでも知りたがっていました。この本も、完成前から予約していて、確かに出版が何ヶ月か遅れて、出版社からお詫びの手紙も来ていた記憶があります。

　本が届いたときにはいくぶん覚めてきて、素人にはとても読み通せない内容だということも気づきました。結局、何回かパラパラとめぐって、あとはせいぜい検索用として置いているだけ、ですね。
